BIO:

His name was bestowed upon him in honor of his father's ultimate guitar hero, Eric Clapton. Since that day young Eric Schock (simply known as Rock to friends and family) has embraced his legacy with consummate passion. At age eight he began taking guitar lessons. At 11 he was allowed to move forward on his own and hasn't stopped practicing, writing, raising eyebrows or dropping jaws since.

At 13, Eric was invited to fill the lead guitar void in his older brother's band - Not Alone. Asking a 13 year-old to join a band of then 18 to 21 year-olds was not an easy decision. But it was - without doubt - the right decision. He contributed immediately and immensely, adding an unyielding guitar-rock foundation and intricate objective that the band had never before possessed.

In this first year of his public debut, the Reading Eagle stated, “Eric Schock plays some fine and subtle guitar that sounds at home with the likes of Dave Matthews, Pink Floyd, or any number of artists.” Since then, Eric has held onto these early influences and continued to evolve and develop what has become a signature full-bodied, riff-driven, modern rock crunch that is the solid foundation upon which this band ROCKS.

At 15, Eric's parents removed him from public school and began an accelerated home school program that gave his schedule the flexibility needed to further his career while graduating a year early with honors. He quickly became the foremost songwriter in Not Alone, spreading his ever expanding signature riffs throughout the Mid-Atlantic’s premier nightclubs and raising the band to formidable levels of regional recognition. Levels of recognition - in fact - that garnered the attention of renowned Grammy nominated producer and Engineer David Ivory (Silvertide, Halestorm, The Roots, Patti Labelle, etc.).

“WOW… this kid’s got all the makings of a guitar ROCK STAR!” said Ivory. “He’s got a quiet, creative storm that he brings to all of his guitar parts.”

Today, Eric and Not Alone are signed to a producer's agreement with Ivory and are passionately pursuing the major record deal that they so deserve. They have enjoyed extensive international radio play on commercial, college and satellite radio including XM Satellite in the U.S. and Pulse Rated Satellite – Europe’s largest Satellite radio station. In 2006, Not Alone advanced to the Semifinal round of the Zippo Hot Tour competition, landing them in the top 80 unsigned bands in the U.S.

Philadelphia’s PLAY Magazine perhaps summed-up Not Alone best: "It’s been said that Not Alone is best when it’s live... Not Alone has got everything guitar to rhythm with an excellent stage presence and catchy lyrics that pull you right in... They are the evolution of classic guitar for the modern era. Their harmony, pure 'instrumental athleticism' and song writing talent bond to generate a distinct musical force. Under the watch of Ivory, Not Alone has focused more on writing, producing and recording tracks with great original hooks, and even more screaming leads than before."

Eric’s mind soaks-up most genres of music taking inspiration from each and using them to fill his extensive artist's pallet. Eric's influences are anchored in the greatest names of the past including Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Warren Haynes, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd. This profound base seamlessly weaves into more modern influences like Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Mark Tremonti, Slash, Joe Satriani, John Mayer and more to provide the quintessential modern day guitarist’s guitarist who appeals to two generations of listeners. With this vibrant array of colors in his arsenal, Eric masterfully shapes riffs and songs that comprise his notable signature sound.

Now at 18, Eric's fervent, emotive, and dynamic stage presence; charming, polite and respectful personality; songwriting prowess and all-around maturity and good looks have combined to quickly propel his distinctive lead-guitar talents to the forefront of modern rock in the region and beyond.
